Wosana dances, rain making rituals are rife in the north of Botswana in particular the north East of Botswana and Zimbabwe during this time of the season. The beating of the drums, the rythm and movement of the whole choregraphed dance is fantastic. The whole ritual is meant to evoke rain. This is a plea and request to Mwali, Bakalanga Deity to bring rain. The painting is so elaborate, it brings all the communal effect. |
